AN AWARD-winning soft drinks manufacturer based in Knighton has announced it will be supporting a local hospice as one of its official charity partners for 2021.

Radnor Hills will be supporting St Michael’s Hospice – an independent charity which helps, supports and cares for patients and families affected by terminal illness.

The drinks company will be supporting the charity at some of its events throughout the year as they look to help raise awareness and funds.

William Watkins, Radnor Hills managing director, said the charity is close to the hearts of those at Radnor Hills.

He said: “We are delighted to have formed a partnership with St Michael’s Hospice and become one of their official corporate partners.

“St Michael’s has always been close to our hearts here at Radnor Hills having helped several of our employee’s families, we are committed to supporting the invaluable work that they do.”

Only 10 per cent of the charity’s funding comes from the NHS; the rest is dependent on the generosity and support of the community.

Simon Kershaw, events and community fundraising officer at St Michael’s, said the charity is pleased Radnor Hills is onboard as an official partner.

He said: “We are delighted to announce Radnor Hills as our first ever Official Partner and it is fitting that a company so embedded in the community has joined us in this capacity.

“We’re incredibly grateful to Radnor Hills for their support and very excited about the prospect of working alongside them as we continue our aim to provide more care to more people.”
