A multi-award-winning company based in Newtown will be representing Wales at a prestigious awards ceremony.

Groundworks and civil engineering business EvaBuild is competing for the UK High Growth Business of the Year award which will be held on May 27 following a record number of new contracts secured.

The company has reported consecutive growth for each of the past three years, as it has expanded to keep pace with demand for its specialist services across England and Wales.

Notable projects in Newtown include the Ladywell Centre redevelopment, Robert Owen House demolition and Trehafren Hill entranceway and car park works.

Managing director Nick Evans said: “We are extremely grateful to our loyal workforce and to all our clients who have supported the business since its inception.

“Despite the challenges of the pandemic, 2021 promises to be our busiest year yet as we have secured a record amount of work from clients across England and Wales who are expanding just like we are.

“The market is growing and that’s why we are expanding our workforce rapidly.”

May promises to be a memorable month for EvaBuild which celebrates reaching the significant milestone of a decade in business. A birthday event is being planned in June, subject to Covid-19 restrictions, when long serving members of staff will be recognised.

The business, which was founded in 2011 by Mr Evans and his wife Lauren and her brother Dan Jones, is initially responsible for setting-out sites and installing all groundworks and infrastructure before returning towards the end of the contract to landscape and complete the project.

Since then the company’s list of awards includes the Fast Growth 50 Fastest Growing Company in Wales in 2015, Welsh Business Awards 2020 High Growth Business of the Year and four Powys Business Awards, culminating in the Powys Business of the Year in 2019.

“We are a company of colleagues that all work together with a common goal to deliver quality services to our clients,” Mr Evans added.

“We are proud of the successful growth of the business over the past 10 years and look forward to further development to support the mid Wales economy over the next decade.”
