AS MANY of us enjoyed sinking a sunny pint in a pub beer garden or spent the bank holiday weekend visiting the myriad amount of beauty spots in Powys, councillors in Llandrindod Wells were giving the spa town a spring clean.
A number of town councillors – including mayor Steve Deeks-D'Silva – joined Llandrindod county councillors Jake Berriman and Pete Roberts in piking litter and tidying up the Temple Gardens area of the town, in readiness for what many hope will be a busy summer tourism season later in the year.
Councillor Berriman, who represents the town’s north ward, said on the town council’s Facebook page on Sunday: “It was a pleasure to join mayor Steve Deeks-D'Silva, fellow councillor Pete Roberts and many members of Llandrindod Wells Town Council in a bit of a clean-up around Temple Gardens today in readiness for the summer tourist season and the reopening of the Metropole Hotel and Spa which faces onto this lovely community space.
“Thanks also for all the kind words from passers by taking a Sunday stroll, it really is appreciated and makes all the hard work worthwhile.”
