APRIL has flown by and we are almost into May.

It has been a strange month, dominated by the delight and anticipation of life returning to normal though tinged with doubts over what kind of world we will be living in when the restrictions are finally lifted.

Every day more and more people are vaccinated and with that comes the hope that the summer will be much different from 2020.

However we cannot go back to normal.

The lessons we have learned over the past 12 months are ones we must not forget in the rush to reclaim freedoms.

Over the past 12 months we have all become more community minded, we have all embraced the towns and villages we live and we have all become citizens of the world.

Regardless of our political beliefs I am sure most people have kept an eye on the news around the world closer than ever over the past 12 months for the latest on the global public health crisis.

This can only be a good thing.

Unless the entire world is vaccinated then mankind will continue to be at risk of this cruel disease which has already taken so many before their time.

However it is also important to find solace and inner peace.

Inspiration for both is never far away and we only have to find the time to sit and think of the many reasons we have to be thankful to wash away the blues.

In the meantime, be excellent to each other.
