A section of the Newtown bypass is likely to remain closed overnight following a fatal two-vehicle collision that overturned a lorry carrying sheep.
The crash happened at around 6.30pm on Sunday, April 25, between the Llanidloes Road roundabout and the Dolfor Road roundabout, and police, fire crews and paramedics were called to the incident.
Sadly, a 36-year-old man died at the scene.
The lorry driver suffered minor injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment.
Police officers continue to investigate the serious collision and have asked witnesses to come forward.
At around 7pm, Dyfed-Powys Police tweeted: "Please find an alternative route for the time-being.
"Emergency services are at scene and dealing. We will update you when the road re-opens."
