A NON-profit organisation in Powys is helping people struggling with looking after pets.

Llanwnog based Powys Pets In Need successfully applied for £2,800 from the National Lottery Community Fund.

The National Lottery Community Fund is prioritising grant application for community activity linked to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Powys Pets In Need hope to help people on low income and financial hardship by supplying them with free pet food to look after their pets.

Michael Le Clerc, treasurer at Powys County Pets In Need said: “With this grant it has made it possible to hold events to raise funds, with two heavy duty gazebos and all fittings, also to advertise, to get the word to people who are not on social media, and also to help towards mileage for the year."

"So far Powys Pets In Need has donated just over 43, 000 meals for pets in just under eight months.”
