A Caersws man and his mother will attempt run and walk 100 kilometres across mid Wales for charity next weekend.
Tudor Rees and his mum Sian Williams, will take on the challenge which begins from Sian's home in Brecon all the way to Llawryglyn near Trefeglwys on Saturday, April 24.
In October 2020, Sian was diagnosed with breast cancer and underwent a mastectomy shortly afterwards.
She said: "The NHS care I have received has been superb, and I will be eternally grateful to everyone that has helped me on this journey. Following my surgery, I went back to running and walking, and with the support of family and friends made an excellent recovery.
"I feel my challenge is a small gesture to say ‘Thank you’ for all that care. My son Tudor is also going to run with me on this challenge, and hopefully we will support one another to a successful finish!
"Nearest and dearest Rob Williams will be our marshal, providing food, water and general support throughout.
"Cancer Research UK has done so much to improve cancer survival outcomes and quality of life for those affected by cancer."
