WITH lockdown restrictions beginning to ease, Welshpool local history enthusiast Alan Crowe is offering to give anyone interested a guided walk of the town as part of the Memories of Welshpool project.

Whether you are a couple, family or in your current social bubble Alan will take you back in time to how the town used to be.

Walks can either be around the town, along the route that the Welshpool and Llanfair Light Railway took when it once passed through the town centre, or around St Mary’s churchyard.

The walks not only give people the chance to learn about the town’s past but also gets them out in the open and the walk is good exercise.

The walks are illustrated with photographs and there is no charge although a donation to the ENSA Memorial Charity that Alan supports would be appreciated.

To book a walk just call Alan on 07782166342 and choose a date and time.

Memories of Welshpool is keeping the town’s social history alive.
