Firefighters responded to a grass fire which occurred yesterday afternoon.
The fire occurred in an area near Gladestry. It was a controlled burn which got out of control.
However, the occupants regained control before the fire engine arrived. A spokesman for Presteigne Fire Station said: “The occupant had followed all correct protocols by informing our Fire Control about his burn but had called back requesting assistance when the fire jumped a firebreak.”
By 18:45, the incident was dealt with, and the firefighters returned to the station.
