POLICE have responded to reports of dog attack on livestock at a Powys farm.

The incident occurred on the afternoon of April 14 in an area of Farrington Lane, Knighton.

The farmer said a dog attacked his flock and one of the sheep sustained fatal injuries.

This is the latest incident where rural crime teams from Dyfed-Powys Police have responded to incidents involving livestock.

There have been 28 dog attacks on livestock this year and some of the incidents have led to dogs being shot.

Police have requested dog owners are kept on leads when being taken for walks by owners and stick to footpaths and avoid walking through fields containing livestock.
