A man who was caught drug driving near Welshpool police station has been banned from driving for a year.
Connor Jordan Warmer, 23, pleaded guilty to drug driving at Welshpool Magistrates' Court on Tuesday, April 6.
Jim Neary, prosecuting, told the court that Warmer was stopped by a police officer in Howell Drive after he was seen driving along the Welshpool bypass at around 10am on June 30, 2020.
"He acknowledged to the officers that he smoked some cannabis, but certainly not on that day," Mr Neary said.
"A drug swipe proved positive and then a blood sample was taken at the police station. The reading was 3.2 [microgrammes per litre of blood] when the legal limit is two."
Warmer told the magistrates' bench that he had smoked cannabis two nights before the day of his arrest.
He added that a driving ban would have "quite an effect on me" due to two disabled family members relying on him to take them to medical appointments.
Warmer, of 52 Dashboard, Dudley, was disqualified from driving for 12 months. and fined £120, £34 victim surcharge and £85 costs.
