Road works are set to begin under Nantoer Bridge on Llanidloes Road in the New Year.
Part of Llanidloes Road in Newtown will be closed for five days while work is carried out to widen a footpath.
Powys County Council said the temporary road closure under Nantoer Bridge will run from Monday, April 12, to Friday, April 16,
A 2.5 mile diversion route includes going through Heol Ashley on the Mochdre Industrial Estate, Dolfor Road and onto Llanidloes Road.
These works have been re-scheduled from April 6 to 9 due to delay with the underground services.
