ANOTHER step has been taken towards McDonald’s opening in Welshpool with the application for a late night refreshments licence.
The fast food giant has submitted a public notice, stating that it has applied to Powys County Council for a licence to serve hot food and drink from 11pm to 5am, Mondays to Sundays.
McDonald’s was given the green light to open a store in the town last year, and now work is progressing well on the restaurant near to the Buttington roundabout, which will be open 24 hours a day.
Any person wishing to make a representation on relation to this application must do so in writing by April 20, to the Licensing Officer, Powys County Council, Ty Maldwyn, Brook Street, Welshpool, SY21 7PH.
A public notice has also been submitted to Powys County Council by Aldi for the store in Pool Road, Newtown, seeking permission to sell alcohol between 6am and 12am.
