A BOLTON man has admitted drug driving while in Powys.
Daniel Joseph Robert Lowe, 25, of The Sheddings, Bolton, Lancashire, pleaded guilty to the offence when he appeared at Welshpool Magistrates Court.
Helen Tench, prosecuting, said a police officer was conducting speed checks on the A489 in Churchstoke when he clocked a Ford Fiesta travelling at excessive speed.
When Lowe was stopped a drug swipe was taken and he tested positive for a metabolite of cocaine with 313 microgrammes in blood, the legal limit being 50.
Robert Hanratty, defending, said there was "limited evidence of any impairment" in Lowe's driving.
He added: "He was in the company of people taking it. The consequences of what he has done will have a big impact."
Chair of the magistrates bench Stephen Pembroke gave Lowe a £300 fine. He wil also pay £85 court costs and a £34 victim surcharge.
