I refer to your picture of the bridge in Caersws during the flooding lately, I would like to confirm that the houses in Bridge Street were not flooded as would have been the case 60 years ago.
This of course is due in no small part to the erection of the Clywedog Dam and the flood embankment built around the village.
Why is it then, when seeking house insurance one is routinely told by insurance companies that they do not insure properties in the SY17 postcode area as they are subject to flooding.
Fortunately I’m insured with an insurance company that recognises that this no longer the case but I can assure you that there are plenty that don’t.
