Work to replace the cladding on an “eyesore” building on the outskirts of Newtown has been completed.
The Hafren Theatre announced on Wednesday, March 10, that new cladding on the fly-tower had been installed.
The building was damaged by a storm more than five years ago. Planning consent was approved last year, much to the delight of a local councillor who described the damage as an “eyesore” to visitors to the town.
A spokesperson for the theatre said: “The builders worked on into yesterday evening to make sure that we are weather proofed before the wind and rain comes in.
“The roofers are working on the roof doing the detailing, while they wait for the new smoke vents to arrive. The signage needs to be attached to the cladding, once the roofers have finished, the scaffolding will be altered to create space to do the signage.”
