A RADNORSHIRE-based skincare business has claimed a top accolade at the Beauty Shortlist Awards 2021 – for its ‘Pure’, ‘Rejuvenate’ and ‘Nourish’ face cream range.

Silvan Skincare, from Presteigne, was announced as a winner on Tuesday at the international Beauty Shortlist Awards, which is an independent competition that champions natural, ethical and sustainable brands. The awards provide a level playing field to global brands and smaller artisan brands alike, celebrating the brightest new beauty launches alongside already established and much-loved products.

“As a small business owner, I still get a kick out of each and every sale I make. To win awards like these from industry leaders is just a fantastic feeling,” said Silvan Skincare founder Marian Hardiman.

“It makes me feel confident and assured that we do have a winning formula. But more than that, for my business it raises my profile, increases credibility and kudos, persuades people to buy and positively influences retailers who were thinking of stocking my skincare range.”

The face creams are handmade in Marian's production unit in Presteigne. Marian's ethos is to create gentle skincare products that are truly natural and don't irritate or harm the body or the environment. The face creams are registered with the Vegan Society and, along with all of her other products, are certified as cruelty-free with The Leaping Bunny Programme. The products are packaged in glass pots with aluminium lids and so are entirely plastic-free.

“I am committed to running my business locally, relying on support and guidance from people who work in the area and to continue to make my products in small batches with care,” added Marian.

“The packaging and look of the products is beautiful. The creams can sit on your shelf looking lovely, with labels drawn by a local designer, they really do stand out.”
