ACTIVITY sessions for children in Powys will be held during the Easter holidays, the county council has said.

Powys County Council has arranged its ‘Children’s Easter Activity Sessions’, which will be held from Monday, March 29, to Friday, April 9. The sessions will take place at four venues across the county and are aged for children aged five to 17.

The sessions, which will run in line with Welsh Government Covid-19 guidance, will be held at Ysgol Golwg y Cwm in Ystradgynlais, Llandrindod Wells Youth Centre, Hafren School in Newtown and in Welshpool.

The sessions will be Monday to Friday (excluding bank holidays) from 10am to 12noon apart from Newtown which will run from 1.30pm to 3.30pm. Places will be limited so parents/carers must book their child’s place online.

Councillor Rachel Powell, cabinet member for children's services, said: “Thanks to funding from the Welsh Government, and our local partnerships, we are delighted that we are able to provide Easter holiday activities for children in venues across the county.

“Following the success of our sessions in the summer holidays, it is anticipated that this future offer will really benefit children and young people alike – I am sure they will really enjoy the experience.”

Sessions will be led by council staff, working with local partners including Activ8kids, Brecknock Play Network, Play Radnor and the Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service.

Places are limited and will be prioritised and allocated within Welsh Government guidance. Registration is open from today (Monday, March 1) and will close on Friday, March 19.
