A DELIVERY driver has escaped a driving ban after he was caught driving while using a mobile phone.
Craig Alexander Stuart Carter, 43, was not disqualified from driving based on the grounds of “exceptional hardship” despite now having 12 points on his licence.
Welshpool Magistrates’ Court heard that just after 2pm on September 16, 2020, Carter was caught using a mobile phone while driving a Citroen Relay Enterprise van on Pool Road, Newtown.
The father-of-two from Dawley near Telford pleaded guilty to the offence and was ordered to pay a £108 fine, victim surcharge of £34 and £90 costs.
