WELSHPOOL Town Bowling Club have been awarded £1,000 thanks to Tesco Bags for Life Scheme.
Tesco Community Champion Barbara Morris presented Treasurer, Lyn Fitzgerald, with a cheque for £1,000 which has helped to purchase new delivery mats, scoreboards and bowls gatherers supplied by local bowls supplier Mike Flannagan of Secondhandbowls and new bespoke rink markers made and supplied by Matt Jones of JMC Strength.
Welshpool Town Bowling Club are an all-inclusive club, who welcome new bowling and social members.
Bowls is a sport that can be enjoyed by any age and ability.
A spokesman said: “We can lend you equipment and offer free socially distanced coaching, so if you’d like to give it a try, or take a look around our facilities at Maesydre Recreation Ground, you can get in touch via our Facebook page or via email welshpooltownbowlingclub@gmail.com or leave us a message on 01938 555232.”
