NEWTOWN has been at the heart of Montgomeryshire industry and commerce for more than 200 years.
During this time the town has seen plenty of changes.
From changing the route of the River Severn through the town in the 1960s to the construction, and fall, of its once thriving textile factories.
Newtown Textile Museum, based in Commercial Street, has shared some images of Newtown from the 1800s which the County Times has compared to modern day settings.
Take a look at our gallery of the changing face of Newtown.
