AS WITH pretty much anything right now, hosting actual events is being scuppered by Covid-19, but Fairtrade Fortnight will going ahead online from February 22 to March 7.

The Llandrindod Wells Fairtrade group will be getting involved in Fairtrade Wales’ Climate Change Coffee Morning, which is taking place on February 27 from 11am-12noon, online via Zoom.

The Llandrindod Fairtrade group work hard to maintain the Fairtrade town status by promoting and informing shopping choice around the Fairtrade brand and providing Fairtrade information. The group support Fairtrade Fortnight by holding coffee mornings, events and providing information to the local area. Sadly, this year the group are not able to hold any of their hugely popular events.

This year you are being asked to choose the world you want. With the current world pandemic engulfing all our lives, it’s more important than ever that we support each other, which is why Fairtrade can make a huge difference worldwide.

Join us for a chat about climate change with a video message from Jenipher, a Fairtrade coffee farmer in Uganda. We’ll learn about how climate change is affecting crops and farmers and how buying Fairtrade can make a difference.

Jenipher’s Coffi is a new coffee, produced to Fairtrade and organic standards by farmers on the slopes of Mount Elgon in Uganda and roasted by hand in Wales.

The event is free to join and there is also a paid option to buy Jenipher’s coffee and have it posted to you before the event.

There are lots of resources available and more information about this and Fairtrade Fortnight can be found at www.fairtrade.org.uk.

Llandrindod Fairtrade group always welcome new members and you can find out more about them and what’s happening on our Facebook page @Llandrindodft.
