HEALTH and care staff in Powys will begin receiving their second doses of the Covid-19 vaccine from next week.

Powys Teaching Health Board announced today that it will begin administering second doses of the vaccine to health and care staff from Wednesday, February 17. Staff will get their second jabs at Mass Vaccination Centres in the county – located in Newtown, Builth Wells and Bronllys.

If you received your first dose of the Covid vaccine in the weeks beginning December 7 in Bronllys and December 14 in Newtown you will shortly be sent details of your second appointment. This may be by either text, email or letter, depending on the preference you indicated at the time of booking your first appointment.

It is really important that you are able to attend the appointment you are given so that the health board can ensure everyone gets protected and no vaccination is wasted.

PTHB will be arranging appointments in order, so those who were given their first dose after these dates will be contacted over the next few weeks for their second appointment.
