A WELSHPOOL High School student has won a national competition which aims to find the next generation of football commentator.
Sam Evans came out top from a field of aspiring commentators from across the UK in the LLS commentator competition.
The Year 11 is an active part of the school sixth form's BTEC level three extended diploma in sport which has partnered LLS to deliver a sport specific post 16 programme.

LLS invited students across the whole of the United Kingdom to enter a competition relating to sports commentary.
Students were set the task to record a piece of commentary.
Sam, being a big Nottingham Forest fan, chose to commentate on a goal scored by Tyler Walker against Leeds United.
Sam was announced the winner and will now receive a personal mentoring session with Sky Sports commentator Martin Tyler.
