A NEWTOWN based singer-songwriter has released a new album during lockdown.

Abi Foster’s new album ‘History Talks’’ was released after successfully raising £1,000 through crowdfunding online and hopes her latest offering proves as popular with fans as her previous album.

Abi said: “I’m thrilled that so many people got involved in supporting the crowdfunder and I’m really excited to share the new music that I’ve been working on through such a strange time.”

Her previous album was well received and was played on radio stations such as BBC Shropshire Introducing.

Seven original tracks from the new album were recorded and produced by Clovis Phillips at AddABand Studios in Mochdre, near Newtown.

The music video, starring contemporary dancer Jack Philp, was filmed by Newtown’s own Alex Davies.

While the lockdown put a halt to live music in 2020, Abi found creative ways to fund her album by setting up a fundraising page which helped generate interest and cover the costs of the album’s production.

She successfully raised her target amount of £1,000 to help with recording costs.

Challenges brought on by the pandemic also meant it was often not possible to visit the recording studio in person.

Most of the record was made remotely, with files sent back and forth, and sessions held over Zoom to finalise the tracks.

The album is available on CD from AbiFoster.Bigcartel.com and on most digital music stores.
