WELSHPOOL will see another shop closure in the new year.

After almost 20 years, gift shop Olivers will close in three months' time with owner Les Oliver citing retirement and the pandemic as reasons for the closure, although the Newtown store is staying.

Mr Oliver said: "We are sadly closing in March 2021 due myself retiring.

"The pandemic has made my mind up and I think it’s the best time to retire at 70.

"Newtown branch will remain open. The staff have been brilliant. I would like to thank all our customers for their support over the last 19 years."
