The first snow of the season has fallen on high points of Powys – as these fantastic pictures reveal.

Walkers were snapped in wintry conditions on Pen y Fan on Friday, and icy conditions are expected to continue into the early part of this week.

Frost and freezing fog to start the day on Monday were expected to gradually clear, but it is still expected to feel cold.

Overnight, temperatures in Powys could fall as low as minus-4 degrees, according to the Met Office, although while coastal areas of Mid Wales could see some showers, it will be drier inland.

On Tuesday showers from west Wales will begin to move inland, with high temperatures of eight degrees.

Despite the recent cold snap, the wetter weather later in the week shows no sign of turning into more sustained snowfall just yet – and the odds of a white Christmas are still pretty remote at the moment.
