A NEWTOWN barber has insisted he has done nothing wrong after being reprimanded by Powys County Council.
The council issued improvement notices to two Newtown barbers on Tuesday afternoon.
Brothers Barbers on Shortbridge Street and Idris Barbers at Glanhafren Market Hall were issued with improvement notices for failure to comply with social distancing regulations and given 96 hours to make changes.
However Baran Baran of Brothers Barbers insisted the premises was safe and had done everything to satisfy requirements.
He said: "We did what we were told and followed all the instructions. We installed sneezing shields between the chairs and duck tape for the seats.
"What else could we have done?"
"Staff wear masks inside the store and ask our customers to wear them too. Some people do not feel comfortable wearing a mask while having their hair cut but we always make the point to ask them.
"We have been told to make improvements but I think our store is large and we have already put in place all that has been asked of us."
