POLICE have discovered a body in their search for a missing Brecon man.

James Kingsbury, described as a dedicated NHS nurse and volunteer biker for the blood service, went missing on October 5.

South Wales Police officers made the announcement on Monday night. They said the death is not being treated as suspicious and they have informed Mr Kingsbury's family.

A statement from South Wales Police read: “Officers involved in the search for missing man James Kingsbury have discovered a body and James’ family have been informed.

“The death is not being treated as suspicious and has been referred to the HM Coroner.”

Police believed James, 56, from Brecon but originally from the Ystradgynlais area, may have been in the South Powys or South Wales Valleys areas, but said he also has links to Durham. He was thought to be travelling on foot.

The family of Mr Kingsbury, better known as ‘Jim’, had made appeals, saying: “We are desperate to know where he is. This is not like him, it’s totally out of character.”
