Thirteen more people in Powys have tested positive for coronavirus, official data has revealed.

The total number of lab-confirmed cases of the virus in Powys since the outbreak of the pandemic now stands at 1,227.

After three more people were confirmed to have died with the virus yesterday, the number of confirmed fatalities in Powys since the beginning of the pandemic is now 23.

However, that is thought to underplay the overall number of Covid-related deaths in Powys, and figures from the Office for National Statistics – which include all deaths where Covid is mentioned on the death certificate – now stands at 100.

More positive, however, is the news that the rate of new infections appears to have slowed, falling to 95.1 per 100,000 residents in the week to November 13, from 104.2 as of the previous day.
