Firefighters were called to a potential river rescue in Brecon on Saturday evening.
At around 6.30pm, crews from Brecon, Talgarth and Swansea Central responded to reports that a woman was in the water.
Craig Thomas, fire officer at Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service, said the woman was walked away from the riverbank and was then looked after by paramedics from the Welsh Ambulance Service.
Busy day and night yesterday for crews from Powys, full day of scenario training followed by a night of rescuing people for differing incidents! Excellent work by crews alongside @DyfedPowys @WelshAmbulance I attended training and 2 of the rescues and saw the superb teamwork👍
