MEMBERS of both of Welshpool’s main Masonic Lodges have combined to make a presentation to the Ponthafren Association.
The members of Welshpool and Powis Masonic Lodges with support from the Provincial Grand Lodge of North Wales and The Masonic Charitable Foundation have contributed £5,000 to the associations funds for work.
A spokesperson for Ponthafren said: “The support is very much appreciated and this donation will be invaluable in helping us to promote positive mental health during this challenging time for all of us.”
Ponthafren, provides a caring community, offering support to those in need and promotes mental health and well-being for all.
Ponthafren has continued to provide its much-needed services throughout the COVID crisis. A representative for the Masonic Lodges in the town said: “We are delighted to continue our support for local charities in the Welshpool area.”
“Since the Covid-19 situation started the Masonic Groups that meet in Welshpool have donated over £10,000 to local good causes – we aim to continue to identify local needs and provide essential support in our local community.”
The Masonic Charitable Foundation have already committed £3.6 million to support charitable response to the pandemic by funding hundreds of local projects and charities across the UK.
