A VILLAGE football club has rallied together to show its support for Welshpool Victoria Memorial Hospital.

Guilsfield Football Club sold around 80 T-shirts to players, supporters and members of the local community.

On each 'Thank You NHS' was proudly emblazoned as a tribute to key workers who have served on the front line in the battle against the coronavirus pandemic.

From the sale of the shirts the club raised £250 which has been donated to the Welshpool Hospital League of Friends.

A club spokesman said: "It was great to see the shirts being worn around the village.

"Hopefully when we get back into the swing of things on the pitch, we will be able to support further to show our appreciation of the work done by the NHS."

The well established JD Cymru North club has been out of action since March due to ongoing lockdown restrictions which have meant all but the 12 JD Cymru Premier clubs have seen their campaign enter hiatus.
