The team behind a Radnorshire car business which faced closure in August are back in business after the operation was snapped up by a national brand.

The former Tremont Ford & Ithon Tyres depot in Tremont Road, Llandrindod Wells, will now join the ETB network.

And it will see a continuation of the company's previous regime, with Tremont's owner Richard Knill remaining as manager, along with his seven-strong workforce.

ETB, a national brand involved with servicing and tyes, has 27 depots across Worcestershire, Warwickshire, Gloucestershire, Herefordshire, Somerset, South Wales and Plymouth.

The company says it "sees huge potential" in Llandrindod Wells, adding to other sites in Wales at Newport, Cardiff, Barry and Bridgend.

Mr Knill, who has owned the centre for many years and has worked at the depot for about 35 years, said: “I want to thank so many customers for their kind comments upon hearing of the change of ownership, but nothing will change from now on.

"It will still be me, service manager Steve Bradford and the rest of the team just like it has always been.

“In fact, we are looking forward to broadening our automotive offering with more exciting retail campaigns and links to premium household-name brands such as Bridgestone and Firestone.

“I am really excited about the future here and by working with ETB, we will be backed by the strength of a national network, which will supplement the passion we have for the local community.

“We are all local lads and will keep on providing a service that everyone can rely on and be sure of, like we always have in the past.”

ETB’s marketing manager John Tear said: “Richard and his team share our passion for customer care and excellence in automotive retail.

"We’re thrilled to have such an incredible business working under the ETB name and we’ll maintain the good work from the past and look to improve it further with greater online presence, marketing assistance and access to a broad range of aftermarket tools as a whole.”
