A SKY News correspondent remained remarkably poised and calm despite nearly being reversed into by a car in a Powys town on Tuesday.
The incident occurred in Knighton on Tuesday morning while Becky Johnson was reporting live from the town centre on new coronavirus restrictions that will come into place in Wales from Friday.
First Minister Mark Drakeford announced on Monday that a new “firebreak” lockdown will come into effect in Wales on Friday, October 23, and last for two weeks, until November 9.
It means non-essential border crossings will be banned during the period and all non-essential retail, leisure and hospitality businesses will have to close and people will not be able to visit other people’s homes or meet each other outdoors. People will also need to work from home wherever possible.
Ms Johnson is a Midlands correspondent for Sky News, covering a wide range of stories from across the UK.
Focused on social affairs and telling stories that affect the lives of people across the UK, she remained calm as a white people carrier-type vehicle reversed haphazardly in the background as she spoke to the studio regarding Monday’s announcement of a second lockdown in Wales.
Ms Johnson chucked and said: “I’m just trying not to get knocked over actually,” after the Sky News anchorman informed her “there’s a car reversing behind you”.
