Construction work has started on a new council housing development in Llanidloes.

Contractors J Harper and Sons will be delivering a mix of 22 homes on the town's former livestock market site on Gorn Road.

Planning consent for the development was given the green light by Powys County Council in December 2019.

The properties include two four-bedroom houses, four two-bedroom houses, six three-bedroom houses, eight two-bedroom bungalows, and two three-bedroom dormer bungalows, together with associated drainage and external works.

The development is part of Powys County Council's commitment to build 250 homes over the next five years.

The new homes will be managed by the council and allocated to applicants on the Common Housing Register.
