FIREFIGHTERS in Powys were called to remove one person from a road traffic collision early on Sunday morning.

The accident happened around 7.30am on the A470 near Llangoed Hall, near Llyswen, with the vehicle leaving the road and ending up in foliage on the side of the road.

Fire crews and police cut the driver out of the vehicle.

Craig Thomas, head of operational response for Powys Command, said: "A one-vehicle RTC left (the) roadway this morning app 7.30am.

"One person removed from car by police and fire, Ambulance attended outside Llangoed Hall in Llyswen."

He also tweeted: "Lucky escape for a motorist this morning. Take care out there please."
