POLICE are appealing for witnesses to a bout of thefts that occurred in Llanbister last week.

Various items of farm equipment and machinery was stolen during two separate incidents near the north Radnorshire village over two separate nights.

The incidents were reported at the weekend, but police have now released more details about their appeal for witnesses to come forward.

The first incident took place between 7pm on Wednesday, September 23 and 7.30am the following morning, where a 10x6.6ft Ifor Williams flatbed trailer was taken, recognisable by the box steel ladder rack accompanying it and a newly-fitted ply bed painted black. A McCulloch chainsaw, Tanaka chainsaw, quad bike sprayer and a generator were also taken.

In the second incident, items stolen included a welder, chainsaw, electrical saw and miscellaneous construction equipment.

A police spokesperson said: “We were called to a shed burglary at a property near the B4356 between Llanbister and Crossway at around 8am on Thursday, September 24.

“Among the items stolen were an Ifor Williams flat-bed trailer, Honda 110v generator and a McCulloch chainsaw.

“The theft is believed to have happened sometime overnight on Wednesday and Thursday.

“On Friday morning, we received another reported burglary, this time from a lock-up in Llanbister.

“The burglary is believed to have happened between 10am on Wednesday, September 23, and 8am on Friday, September 25.

“Stolen was a welder, a chainsaw, an electrical saw and miscellaneous construction equipment.”
