THE Llanidloes Charter Market is taking place every Saturday from 9am to 4pm.

The market has re-opened with social distancing measures in place but shoppers are encouraged so please visit again.

Llanidloes Charter Market has been run in the town since 1280, and is now centred around the well known Great Oak Street.

When the market became under threat early in 2012, due to Powys County Council and the Town Council finding themselves unable to further support its development, a group of interested retailers and local residents set up a committee to save it from closure..

The market went from strength to strength in 2012 and it now boasts up to 25 stalls selling local produce, plants, antiques, local crafts, tools, gifts and many other items.

There is also the opportunity for local charities to hire a stall free on a first come first served basis.

It is currently run by the market traders themselves as the independent Llanidloes Charter Market Group which consists of a management committee and members.
