WHILE the Heart of Wales Seven’s Rugby Club festival was postponed this year due to the coronavirus crisis, there is still plenty for people to look forward to, with new pitches created.
A spokesman for the club posted on social media: “The Heart of Wales Seven’s is back with a bang
“Two more rugby pitches are on the way.
“We are extremely grateful to our partners over at Dol Llys Caravan and Camping for allowing the grounds work.”
The annual Heart of Wales Seven’s Rugby music and sport festival began five years ago and is hosted at Llanidloes Rugby Club.
Last year saw 120 teams compete in six sports across three sites over two nights during the festival.
Music and entertainment included local musicians and Meatloaf, Tom Jones and Olly Murs tribute acts with the addition of the HedOne DJ tent.
As well as offering elite and social men’s and women’s rugby seven’s format competition, the event saw netball and mixed touch format rugby.
It also saw the addition of the Welsh Tug of War Championships, Mixed Ability rugby and the Heart of Wales Ultra Marathon and 10km race.
