NEWTOWN AFC have chosen to show support the Honeypot Children’s Charity this season.
Chairman Howard Ellis said: “I’ts great as a club to help support a local children’s charity and we hope it will allow others to see the great work they do and give them more exposure through the club.
“We look forward to forming a partnership where the young carers can visit Latham Park and enjoy some training sessions with the team.
“It’s been the first year of bringing a charity on board and we hope to roll this out in future years to support other charities”.
The charity provides respite services, digital outreach, educational programmes and a welfare fund for young carers, by offering a sponsorship spot on their kits and providing football training to young carers in the local area.
Respite House, Honeypot Pen Y Bryn, in Dolfor, opened its doors to young carers in 2016, to give children the chance to have a break from their stressful caring roles at home.
