Live entertainment is returning to Montgomeryshire this weekend, with two events that will allow people to attend in person or stream online.

Mid Wales Arts received a sustainability grant from the Arts Council of Wales to allow it to find ways of making the arts accessible to the public despite Covid restrictions.

And the first events will see live poetry readings and a concert from a local singer songwriter bring the arts back to the public in Mid Wales on Sunday, September 6.

Both events will take place in the Covid-secure Sculpture Hall in Caersws – or outside if weather permits.

The poetry event from 1.30pm-3.30pm welcomes headline poets Chris Kinsey, Kate Garrett and Glyn Edwards. They will read and take part in a Q&A hosted by Pat Edwards. Guest poets Jen Hawkins, recently published in Prole Magazine, and award-winning Ben Gwalchmai will also be contributing.

This will be followed by a concert from 4pm featuring locally-based American-born singer songwriter, Jeb Loy Nichols, who was described by Rolling Stone as "the high priest of country".

His music combines elements of soul, country, folk, reggae and blues and he will be performing new material from his latest album and EP, as well as some old favourites.

Young musicians Abi Foster and Clovis Phillips, both from Mochdre, will join Jeb on the bill.

The centre has a lot of outdoor space, large galleries and barns where sculpture, paintings and other forms of art work can be enjoyed.

There is also a studio where ceramic classes are taught by a team of skilled potters and teachers.
