LAUREN Williams has expressed her delight after competing in her first races last weekend.
The Trefeglwys athlete competed in the 200m and 400m at the Loughborough Invitational behind closed doors.
Despite the lack of supporters, the 21 year old was thrilled to be back on the track, winning both the 200m and 400 races.
The former Llanidloes High School and Maldwyn Harriers star said: "It was great to be back competing after almost 12 months without any races.
"Loughborough put on a great meet, even though it was a closed doors event, and I was happy to come away with a couple of wins and blow the cobwebs off.
"I am now looking forward to improving on those times and enjoying the rest of this very strange season."
