A RESCUE centre near Rhayader is raising money to buy a purpose built animal hospital and housing shelter.
Rhayader Wildlife Centre in Nantmel has reached almost half its £2,700 target after launching the fundraising appeal in June for a building that will include lighting, heating and heat lamps.
Owner Tim Churchill said: “This year with the coronavirus we have taken in so many more animals for various reasons, the unit will allow us to give much better care, better hygiene within a peaceful environment.
“The money raised will purchase the unit and pay for the necessary groundworks and install so we can continue to care and look after injured wildlife and unwanted pets that come to us via members of the public or local vets.”
Tim added: “I am sure we will reach our goal and continue the work we do and you can be proud of the help you are giving to so many animals in need of our care and attention.”
