Cassiobury Park has reopened with limited access to the public after it was shut due to fallen trees.
Several trees were destroyed in the park due to heavy rainfall and a storm on Wednesday afternoon – and Watford Borough Council decided to close it a day later because of the damage.
But the council has now reopened the park today (Friday), although several paths have been closed and some areas remain sealed off as work continues on the damaged trees.

The council says its “top priority” is to ensure people’s safety.
⚠ Cassiobury Park limited reopening - PLEASE SHARE! We are still working on the damage to trees. Whilst the Park is not closed today, we would encourage you to visit only if you have to. In a Facebook post, the council added: “We are still working on the damage to trees. Whilst the park is not closed today, we would encourage you to visit only if you have to.

“Emergency tree works are still underway and we have had to close paths and limit access to ensure people’s safety, which is our top priority.
“Where possible, we leave tree timber in place as it is an important habitat for wildlife, whilst smaller branches are chipped and used as much.”
