BUILDING works for a new pedestrian crossing are underway following the success of a worried mother's campaign over road safety.
Tracy Keating-Verga has fought for three years to get better safety measures outside Cranbourne Primary School, following a number of 'fatal near misses'.

After years of 'frustration' and 'delay', workmen finally carrying out roadworks on Lovel Road to improve the safety for residents and children crossing the road.
The mum said: "I am quite emotional and very happy. It's been a long process but very worthwhile. I know it will make that road safer and give parents piece of mind watching their children safely cross the road into school."
Plans for the new crossing were approved by Bracknell Forest Council on June 15 as part of their budget for 2020.

Ms Keating-Verga added: "After three years of campaigning to the council to get something down and at last they are moving towards a positive outcome.
"What gives me some hope and peace of mind is knowing how many other children's and parent's lives this will change and make safer."
