Road police used a stinger to successfully stop a car near Caersws that refused to stop for officers in Aberystwyth.

Two men, from the West Midlands area, were arrested after being stopped in a silver Vauxhall Astra on the A489 in Llandinam at 7.30pm on Wednesday, July 15.

The passenger was arrested on suspicion of drug possession, while the driver was further arrested for drug driving, dangerous driving and failing to stop.

The driver has been bailed under investigation. The second man was released and will face no further action.

The action was praised as an example of partnership working by different parts of the force.

"Great teamwork by all departments," the Newtown Road Policing Unit said in a Tweet.

Dyfed-Powys chief inspector Mark Collins added: "This is a great example of cross divisional and departmental working. Well done to all."
