OPEN Newtown has confirmed that contractors are returning to work on the BMX Pump Track and Mountain Bike Trail in the next few weeks.
A spokesman said: “Please be aware, over the next two weeks contractors will be returning to complete repairs to the river access steps.
“They will be adding some additional hardcore and steps where needed, along with returning to Trehafren Hill to complete the tarmac surface of the BMX Pump Track and to introduce additional fencing, signage, drainage to the Mountain Bike Trail and the informal pedestrian pathways.”
Funding was secured by Open Newtown for a BMX Pump Track and a Mountain Bike Trail on Trehafren Hill last year
Newtown and Llanllwchaiarn Town Council and The National Lottery Community Fund have provided the money for the track and Sport Wales have provided funding for a mile long Mountain Bike Trail at the Trehafren hill site.
