PRICES have been slashed at Laura Ashley's Newtown branch as part of the company's closing down sale.

Seven outlets across Wales, including the store in Newtown, have cut prices by up to 40 per cent.

Stores in Bangor, Cardiff, Carmarthen, Llandudno, Swansea and Haverfordwest are also slashing prices.

Offers include 50 per cent off furniture, lighting, bedding, womenswear and fashion accessories.

Meanwhile the price of ready made curtains have been reduced by 60 per cent.

The stores are ‘COVID secure’ and adhere to strict social distancing with a limited number of shoppers allowed in stores at any time, as well as regular deep cleaning.

Card payments are also encouraged.

Laura Ashley began in Carno in the 1950s, quickly becoming famous for its unique printed fabrics.

Over time, the brand grew to become a household name, synonymous with quality fashion, interiors and home furnishings.

However last month the company entered administration and its stores will now close with its manufacturing business also on the market.

A spokesman for Laura Ashley said: “With 50 per cent off all furniture, customers can find some beautiful, quality pieces at an amazing price.

"Furniture has proved popular since the sale began, so if you’re looking for a particular item, be sure to check online as well as in store for your best chance.

"We expect the range to sell fast at half price.”
