WREXHAM Council has confirmed that its outdoor sports facilities have reopened.

They have stated that they are pleased to inform residents that their bowling greens, tennis courts, skate parks and angling facilities have re-opened today (July 7), which have all been closed since March due to the coronavirus outbreak.

In line with Welsh Government lifting restrictions, there will be rules that must be adhered to for everyone’s safety, which will be signposted around these facilities.

Cllr David Bithell, lead member for environment and transport, said: "We’re very pleased to be re-opening these facilities today, but we ask everyone to make sure they use them responsibly.

"Each facility has strict rules that are clearly signposted and we must make sure we all stick to them.

"We all have hobbies that we’ve missed over the past months, so now we’re able to start doing some of these things again, please don’t do anything that will jeopardise the progress we’ve made in Wrexham.

"Please stay safe."
